Women and the Kemper: Island Press Demonstration and Tour
5 pm
Kemper Art Museum; Bixby 200
Women and the Kemper members and their friends are invited to join Lisa Bulawsky, professor of art and director of Island Press; Tom Reed, senior lecturer and master printer of Island Press, Sam Fox School of Design & Visual Arts; and Diane Victor, Arthur L. and Sheila Prensky Island Press Visiting Artist, for a fascinating demonstration of the printmaking process at Washington University’s Island Press. Afterward, Bulawsky and Reed will lead guests on brief tours of the current Teaching Gallery exhibition they curated, The New York Collection for Stockholm Portfolio, which showcases prints by a distinguished cross-section of avant-garde American artists of the 1960s, and of Island Press: Recent Prints, which presents artworks created in the last decade by over a dozen visiting artists to Island Press, Washington University’s collaborative printmaking workshop.
Women and the Kemper members are encouraged to bring a friend. The event is free, but please register here.
