Directions and Parking

Located near the corner of Skinker and Forsyth Boulevards, the Kemper Art Museum is directly west of Forest Park on the Danforth Campus of Washington University in St. Louis.

University Construction

The transformation of the east end of Washington University's Danforth Campus is underway and affects access to the Museum. We recommend calling ahead before your visit: 314.935.4523.

Weekday Parking

Museum visitors may park in the Danforth University Center (DUC) garage off of Forsyth, but must purchase a daily permit hang tag. These can be purchased through the University's Parking & Transportation Services office at North CampusFind out more here and view a campus parking map

Street parking may be available on Skinker, Wydown, and in Forest Park, about a two-block walk to the Museum.

Weekend & Evening Parking

Free visitor parking is available in any yellow zone on weekday evenings, beginning at 5p. Free weekend parking is available Friday at 5p through Monday at 7a. No hangtag pass is required during these times.

PLEASE NOTE: Visitors other than Eliot Society-level members parked in red zones at any time will be ticketed.

Handicapped Parking & Visitor Drop-off

Handicapped parking and visitor drop-off are available in the lot east of the Museum. Enter off of Skinker at Lindell and tell the flaggers you're going to the Museum.

Public Transit, Bike Access, and Ride-Hailing Apps

The Skinker MetroLink stop is about one block north of the Museum building. Several MetroBus routes (Green Line, Route 1, Route 2) stop on the Danforth Campus. For the most current schedules and route details visit

Bike racks are located to the east of the Museum building; visit Bike St. Louis for a map with details on local bike trails to plan your route.

If using a ride-hailing app such as Uber, we recommend getting dropped off at Forsyth and Hoyt.

Pedestrian Access

From the west and south, there is a pedestrian walkway off of Forsyth at Hoyt. From the east and north, there is a path from Skinker, behind the construction trailers, to the Museum.
