Drop-In Family Workshop: Sculpture Meets Fashion—The Art of Netsuke

July 17, 2022
1–3 pm

How do you express yourself with fashion and style? Drop in to the Museum lobby between 1 and 3 pm for a free family workshop exploring the art of netsuke, small wearable sculptures with a long history in Japan. Learn about how netsuke are crafted and their role in traditional Japanese dress while viewing a selection of netsuke and inro from the Museum’s permanent collection. Then create your own netsuke-inspired pendant out of polymer clay to take home and bake.

All ages are welcome; registration is encouraged. Register here >>
