Women and the Kemper Tour: Saint Louis Fashion Fund

June 8, 2017
1533 Washington Avenue

From the late 19th century to the end of World War II, St. Louis was second only to New York as a fashion capital, with Washington Avenue housing such manufacturers as Knickerbocker, Bee Hat, Fashion Square, Kitty Kay Gloves, and International Shoe. The nonprofit Saint Louis Fashion Fund aims to reinvigorate this legacy with an ambitious slate of programs, including the new Fashion Incubator, which is located in the former Garment District.

Women and the Kemper members are invited to learn about the Saint Louis Fashion Fund with Susan Sherman, executive director, and Eric Johnson, board chair. Participants will meet the six inaugural designers chosen for the 2017–19 Fashion Incubator residency, tour their studios, shop, and enjoy cocktails and light fare.

Parking is available at meters and flat lots located directly behind the building.

Women and the Kemper members are invited to bring a friend to this program. Members of the Washington University Women's Society and Woman's Club are welcome to attend as well.
