This interdisciplinary panel will pursue some of the conceptual concerns posed by Tomás Saraceno's visionary artistic practice, such as the legacy of the utopian impulse in contemporary art and architecture and the scientific, cultural, and aesthetic dimensions of sustainability today. Faculty participants from fields including art history, architecture, engineering, and biology will discuss their current research and how it relates to larger questions of environmental and social sustainability.
