Lecture: Elizabeth Wyckoff
6 pm
Kemper Art Museum; Kemper 104
In conjunction with the exhibition Renaissance and Baroque Prints: Investigating the Collection, Elizabeth Wyckoff, curator of prints, drawings, and photographs at the Saint Louis Art Museum, will discuss The Uses and Abuses of Old Master Prints.
The growth and development of printmaking techniques in Europe throughout the 15th through 18th centuries fundamentally informed and altered the visual culture landscape across the continent. This talk will focus not only on the place of prints within art history but also on the functions they performed, both obvious and otherwise.
