Museum Docent Program
Each year the Kemper Art Museum works with a dedicated group of Washington University students to lead docent tours, engaging visitors in looking at and discussing the permanent collection and special exhibitions. Through this program, student docents learn about the Museums exhibitions and explore strategies to provide an interactive Museum experience. In addition, student docents gain valuable knowledge within a museum environment, meeting during the semester to examine topics in art, art history, and museum education, and building valuable teaching and public presentation skills in the process. This program plays an essential role in creating a dynamic learning environment at the Museum, providing visitors with an opportunity to learn more about the collection and special exhibitions from the students themselves.
The Museum is accepting new applications for the Docent Program. If you are interested in becoming a student docent please complete the Application Form which can be downloaded from the link below. Submit your completed application to Kemper Art Museum Room 208 (Campus Box 1214), the museum's visitor services desk, or e-mail it to murawski@wustl.edu. Please contact Michael Murawski at 314.935.7918 with any questions about the Docent Program.
